Our 2008 comeback has reached the dizzying height of two shows a month! We’re looking to graduate to four shows, but can only do it if you (and your friends) help out. Show up early and volunteer at shows. Stay late and help clean up. Flyer your school. Come to the meetings.
OK, now for the good stuff:
- Feb 23rd: PUNK - Social Concern (chico), The Floating Corpses (SF) and The Radical Devil
- March 1st: ALL AGES ALLIANCE presents a kickass all-day show at the Fortuna Vets Center. You should help them out, too!
- March 7th: METAL - Slaughterbox (red bluff), Antarctica, Tidal Decay and Emilia’s Rose
- March 22nd: ROCK - Steel Toed Slippers, Kill the Switch, This Dying Wish and TBA
- Early April: Super Sekrit Show, details forthcoming
- April 25th: The ROBOTICK PUNK PROM ($5 with costume / $7 without) - The Social Ills, The Psycho Nubs and many more TBA
All Placebo shows are $5 and at the Ink People [map] unless otherwise mentioned. Annual two-dollar membership is always required.

Yes, The Placebo is indeed hosting a show this month. It’s Dungeon Master’s farewell/CD-release party and it will, needless to say, RAWK. DM and their fellow bands, the sweeties that they are, are also donating all of the door money to the Placebo. In return, we are going to waive the membership cost for this show and this show only. So come on out and see Five Bands for Three Dollars:
- Dungeon Master Dungeon-Core Nerd Violence
- Emilia’s Rose metal hardcore (or is that hardcore metal?)
- The Social Ills NorCal Punk Rock and Hardcore
- Antarctica
- Tidal Decay
When: Saturday, January 26 (doors at 6:30)
Where: The Ink People, 411 12th St. Eureka (next to the Muni)
Cost: $3! (bring some extra cash for the Dungeon Master CD)

Warhol Warehouse

Originally published at The Placebo. You can comment here or there.
Everyone! Doesn’t this sound good?
An all ages – costume event with out-of-town bands, live art, interactive art, multidimensional film projection, wine and beer available [with ID], actors playing rock icons, cool lighting, multiple stages all happening at the Accident Gallery this Friday night.
Not only does it sound good, it’s true and the profits go straight to Synapsis, Placebo and E2. These are all ages, alcohol and drug free venues that support independent bands and art workshops.
That’s this Friday night, the 16th, at The Accident Gallery on C St. in Old Town Eureka from 8:pm to midnight. $8 at the door. The event is called The Warhol Warehouse Benefit and is based on Andy Warhol’s late 60’s “art factory” multimedia event, The Exploding Plastic Inevitable. Please come dressed in beatnik or mod; wear a tight turtleneck, tight jeans and boots. If all else fails, just dress like you would normally, er, wear black. See you Friday!
